Prof. Dr. Evi Susanti is a lecturer and researcher in Microbiology at Biotechnology Program, Department of Applied Science, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia. Her research focuses on the utilization of microorganisms, particularly bacteria and fungi, to develop biotechnology-based solutions for environmental, health, and industrial applications. Her research interests include: Bioremediation of textile (batik) wastewater using wood rot fungi (Myceliophthora thermophila and Phanerochaete chrysosporium) for xenobiotic (dye) degradation and environmental quality improvement. Microplastic degradation through a Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) system employing bacteria immobilized on cellulose nanofiber-based carriers. Valorization of fish scale waste as raw material for nutraceuticals, particularly fish protein hydrolysates (FPHs) with potential benefits as supportive therapy for arthritis. Development of value-added microbial products for biotechnological applications and community empowerment. Through these studies, Prof. Dr. Susanti is committed to integrating microbiology and applied biotechnology to address real-world problems in environmental and health sectors, while fostering innovations that provide both commercial value and societal benefits.
